I've been busy writing, so I've slacked on posting, but here's some rambling, along with some fun stuff to entertain my fellow geeks.  Star Wars nerdity ahead! :)

First, we have five reasons why Luke Skywalker is a complete idiot (only five? :P).

Second, there's the coolest Death Star pumpkin you'll see this Halloween.

If only I had 8 hours to blow on a project like this.  Alas, I have too much porn that needs writing, gold to earn for my epic mount, and a scarf that - at only 6" long - looks more like a doll blanket. :)  I promised Shelagh a pic a week or two ago, but I kept getting distracted. *fails*  But no more!

My mom, enabler that she is, sent me a magazine with patterns for knitted kimonos.  I'm going to make myself an uchikake once I get enough practice, so I'm quite looking forward to that.

Puppy, your fic is almost done, I had a breakthrough today! \o/  I hope transparent plot draped over gratuitous smut is ok. *grin*

Anyone else waiting with bated breath for the development announcement at WWI Paris?

I've been checking the monstrous threads on diablofans.com on and off over the past few days, reading the loony theories, and I've pored over the Blizzard splash page.

All signs point to the announcement we've been waiting for for the better part of a decade: Diablo 3.

I think it's most likely to be D3. I certainly hope it is. D2:LOD is one of those games that doesn't leave my HD, that I'll fire up every year or two and play for a few months, so any continuation of the franchise has some mighty big shoes to fill.  But Blizzard hasn't let me down yet, and one of the things I admire is that with so many successful titles, they can afford to take the time to get them right - so instead of bitching that they worked on Warcraft and Starcraft first, I'm actually glad.

Even if it's not announced tomorrow (WAAAAAAAAAAAH!), when they do get around to it, it'll be the best D3 it can be. Plus, D2 has such high replay value, it's only this past year that I have felt like it was beginning to be past time for a new one.

Trying not to get my hopes up, but dang, this time it's looking good! By the time I get up tomorrow morning, we'll know...

I will also use this post to brag about the pressie my hubby gave me. Since my laptop (which I dearly love!) is a bit too unwieldly to bring to bed every night, and my DS card is hosed and it's too tedious to reformat fics for proper reading on it anyway... he bought me an Eee PC!  It's just right for surfing for bedtime pr0nz, and it's actually got a decent enough screen to play movies on. Haven't tested the sound yet, but I'm sure with some ear buds it'll do just fine for listening to tunes (no, I don't have an iPod or the like... I only just got a mobile phone, lol).

Oh, and because I got asked this question elsewhere, mine is white. ^_^  Hubby says I should call it 'Chibiyuki' to match my white and silver laptop 'Shirayuki'.  Cheza (aka xxtorturedxx) seconded that, and I have to admit the name is growing on me (like fungus, *snicker*).

Now I must go read my new fic over a few dozen more times. :D :D :D
