A/N: This is my contribution to the Halloween 'Come As You’re Not' event. The idea was intriguing, but I was intimidated at the thought of doing something so different. conjure_lass was considering it, too, and so we challenged each other to write against our happy ending natures. We promised to write each other gratuitously happy and fluffy OTP fic to console ourselves and make it all better. We wibbled and we wept but in the end, we both succeeded. :)

I wasn’t sure I was going to make it when I agreed to it. But one night I couldn’t sleep, my brain kept spinning this story out, and so I crawled out of bed somewhere around 3am, wrote like a fiend until 5:30am, then sent the whole mess off to moshesque for beta with only a single quick editing pass. After making the edits the next day, I put the fic away for three full weeks, and didn’t look at it again until just this week.

Thanks for the encouragement and the beta, Moshy. I really don’t think I would have the guts to post this if you and Sekra hadn’t insisted it was worthy. Look at me, doing all these weird and uncharacteristic things. It’s good, really good, but I feel the need to dive back into my comfort zone. ;)

Warnings: This is a touch darker than my normal fare. It’s still not actually dark, because I am a wuss, but there are fewer fluffy rainbows and more mindfuckery than usual.

Summary: Orihime always seems to be waiting for Ulquiorra… and he always goes to her.

A/N: I’m sure my flist is picking themselves up off the floor after seeing this pairing, hehe. But it’s your birthday present, so you get your OTP if I’m at all capable of writing it. I didn’t know if I could do it, but apparently deadlines motivate me. ;)

This story follows Orihime after her incarceration at Las Noches, through the events of the Hueco Mundo arc. It conforms to on-screen canon, while reading between the lines to flesh out some scenes and adding new ones. Just when I had everything done, ch316 came out and I had to make a few last-minute adjustments. It’s actually a relief that there’s no chapter this week, because I don’t think I could've managed decent overnight changes purely on the chapter rumours that come out mid-week, and we couldn't have waited any longer to give you your pressies. :)

Many thanks to moshesque for the beta, even though she doesn’t like Orihime or UlquiHime, not even a little bit. I owe you one, bigtime.

My fanart tag is getting quite the workout! Apologies for the spam today, but I figure I'm allowed since I hardly ever post. :)

Some of you may remember jetsmith, who drew fanart for Nexus and Apotheosis. Well she's been awfully busy and has moved on to a new fandom, but she took the time to read a new Bleach pairing, and liked my pre-slashy Bya/Ulqui story 'Giving Ground' enough to draw fanart for it. ^_^

 

I've had to add a fanart page to Covenant. :)  You all know I go all wibbly and giddy when someone creates something based on my writing. *_*

A/N: This is so totally silly. sekra made me do it. A year ago. We were discussing ideas she could use for crack comics, and we came up with some fun 'Bleach Fairtytales'. Alas, her muses refused to make this one happen, so it fell to me to write it out instead. I don't remember why I didn't post it then, but I guess it's just as well that I have a couple small things in reserve - I can post them when I need a dose of love while I work on longer projects! :)

Also, thanks to moshesque for the eyeball and kicking my ass to post this instead of leaving it to collect dust. :)

Imagine my surprise when I found fanart for Apotheosis in my y!Gal!  It's a pic of Ichigo saying goodbye in Chapter 5, and I think the artist has done a very good job of showing his feelings in that scene.

It's been well over a year since I finished posting Apotheosis, actually a year and a half since Ch 5 was posted. How thrilled am I that people love it so much that they're re-reading it, and still being inspired by it? (Answer: lots and lots and lots! :D)

Thank you, evilchick2007, for making me smile during a very busy and stressful time! I've added this to the Apotheosis fanart page as well. :)
